Bourbon County Caramella Ale
Something had to finish last. And though this is a decisive last-place finish — Caramella finished last or second-to-last in seven of the nine rankings — I would argue that it, too, is well done for what it is: a wheatwine aged in Larceny bourbon barrels that gets a dose of apple, cinnamon and natural caramel flavor. Klockars, of Guys Drinking Beer, even ranked it as his second favorite, after Birthday: “I figured Caramella would be divisive, but I found it to be such a nice surprise (though I can’t argue that it isn’t super sweet).”
